Hello Good Citizens of Attica,
This is just a brief overview of trading and commerce in Attica. I say trading because there is a market for goods for you to buy, sell and exchange; as well as a common currency. So here are a few pointers for you to get started.
The economy in Attica are dollars and cents. You can type /money to check your balance. Other helpful commands include /money pay [playername] [amount]. This is to pay your suppliers or anyone else you owe money to.
1. Get a job
There are many jobs to choose from. I will leave explaining classes for a later post, but right off the bat it is important to choose jobs that get resources. This includes wood, stone, crops, ore, sand, dirt.
There are two good reasons for getting a job:
a. You want to have items that you can sell or trade with on the market. The more stuff you can supply, the better of you are making bargains, stocking up your shops (more on this later)
b. You want to earn income by performing the tasks that your job class requires you to do to get money. For example, as a miner each cobblestone you break gives you a couple dollars; as a lumberjack each log you cut down gives you money and so forth - you get the idea.
2. Set up shop
After you have collected a sizable amount of resources, you may choose to either keep them to trade with another, or perhaps setting up your own shop may seem like an attractive option. Needless to say, selling your resources to your fellow citizens seems like a good idea, and it also establishes your reputation as a mogul or rich man as you dominate the market.
The first few things to consider are:
a. What am I going to sell?
Think about what people demand or need, and what you can offer. Is there a market you can tap into? There isn't affordable coloured wool anywhere yet - maybe I can set up a coloured wool shop to cater to those fashionistas or architects out there! Or maybe there isn't a shop for rotten flesh yet, but chances are there won't be demand for that, so think carefully about what people need and what you can supply.
b. How much am I going to sell [items] for?
Think about how much you will price your items. They should be lower than the Wayne Tower's General Store (more on this later), and should be priced accordingly. So, if Wayne Tower sells cobblestone for 750 per 64 stack, I might want to sell them for let's say, 720 per 64 stack, just so I can be competitive.
c. Can I keep up with the supply?
Once I set up my shop, can I continuously provide supply for the items I am selling? The worst thing is when you set up a cake shop, put in 10 cakes, sell them for really cheap, run out in less than 10 minutes, and have someone else open up a shop to take your business away. You snooze you lose.

- Forth, place your items in the chest.
- Fifth, place the sign[s] above your chest[s], like so:
- Sixth, type these in the sign:
Name: Your gamename.
Number: Number of items you wish to sell per click (its left mouse button to buy, right mouse button to sell)
B: Buy for
S: Sell for
x & y: Your desired prices.
Item name: the item you are selling without spaces.
Good luck, citizens.
